Empire State Mine

Empire State Tunnel

The Empire State Mining Company began developing its property about 8 miles from Bisbee in 1905. Even though today it is questionable if this is in the Warren Mining District, at the time it was considers as such, along with the Modern Mine and North Bisbee Extension. The exploration of this area consisted of a tunnel that by 1910 was 1,000ft long. Work continued on the property until 1911. In 1913 the Bisbee Daily Review noted that the owners were trying to restart the operation, but were trying to remove squatters from the property.
